Routine Cleanings
Regular cleanings are key to maintaining overall health. Your regular exam will take about 45 minutes and include a detailed teeth cleaning. During your routine cleaning, you can expect us to –
• Check for any problems that you may not see or feel
• Look for cavities or any other signs of tooth decay
• Inspect your teeth and gums for gingivitis and signs of periodontal disease
Root Canals
Root canals can be painful and intimidating. Working with a dentist or endodontist who specializes in nerve issues of the teeth is critical to root canal treatment. When dealing with a root canal, expect to have one to three visits that will include removing the affected tissue, cleaning, and sealing the interior of the tooth as well as filling the tooth with a dental composite.
A crown may be placed on the tooth to strengthen and protect your tooth from breaking. Health and maintenance of your restored tooth will ensure proper healing.
Extractions
There are times when it is necessary to remove a tooth. A baby tooth that has trouble falling out preventing a permanent tooth to erupt or if a tooth has a great deal of decay, your doctor may recommend replacement with a bridge or implant.
Infection, orthodontic correction, or problems with a wisdom tooth can also require the removal of a tooth. Whatever the case, your dentist may extract the tooth at your regular check-up or schedule an additional visit for the procedure. Trust that your dentist wants to keep this process as pain free as possible and remove the tooth safely so your pain will diminish and infection will be prevented.
Implants
Are you ready for a confident smile? Implants are made of metal and porcelain and look just like your natural tooth. It is composed of two main parts: one part is the titanium implant body that takes the place of the missing root, and the second part is the tooth-colored crown that is cemented on top of the implant. For patients with removable partial dentures, implants can replace missing teeth, so you have a more natural-looking smile.
